Thycaud Ayyavu Swamikal was a spiritualist and a social reformer, the first to break customs related to caste in Kerala when caste restrictions and untouchability were at its extreme. He was also known as Sadananda Swami. He was born at Nakalapuram of Tamil Nadu in 1814 and died at Trivandrum in 1909. His father was Muthukumaran and mother was Rugmini Ammal. His literary works are Raja Yoga, Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga and Jnana Yoga.
